Kayaking on the River Wye
Kayaking on the River Wye - just one of the many activities you can enjoy during a visit to Monmouthshire

EXPLORE THE AREA

We are situated in the glorious Monmouthshire countryside an area steeped in history and surrounded by stunning scenery in all directions. Despite being in rural surroundings, we are very conveniently placed for visiting all of South Wales and Borders areas, with easy access to major road networks.

The small, historic, picturesque town of Usk is less than 2 miles away. Known as "The Town of Flowers" Usk is a regular winner of the annual Wales in Bloom competitions and during the summer months its streets are filled with many beautiful floral displays.

We have an excellent country pub, The Hall Inn serving food and drink, just 200 metres across the road from the farm and there are many other excellent pubs and restaurants within a close drive in Usk and Raglan. Also very close by:  Miranda Shaw Yoga offers yoga sessions in Gwehelog village hall (just beyond the pub) on Monday evenings and several other sessions locally throughout the week. Wyldwood Willow offers regular and very popular, willow weaving workshops just down the road.

There are numerous activities and things to do and see in the area. The Brecon Beacons, Black Mountains and Wye Valley are all within a short drive and there are many beautiful ruins of castles and abbeys. Raglan and Usk Castles are just up the road and Llanthony Priory and the gorgeous Tintern Abbey are both very nearby. Why not try kayaking on the Wye, fishing on the River Usk, cycling in the Forest of Dean, sailing at Llandegfedd Reservoir, canal boating on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal or simply enjoy some leisurely shopping in the beautiful nearby market towns? We are always delighted to help with suggestions and recommendations based on our own and other guest experiences. Of course you can also simply relax in our garden and walk, or have a picnic in our fields or woods.
