Oak Farm offers a perfect base to explore Monmouthshire, the Wye Valley, Vale of Usk and the Brecon Beacons. We’re only 20 minutes off the M4 (J24), 15 minutes drive from ICC Wales and 45 minutes from the centres of Bristol or Cardiff.
Our cosy self-catering cottages are nestled around the old farmyard of this classic 17th Century Welsh farmhouse. Enjoy our freshly baked bread and home-made jams & marmalade and snuggle down in crisp, fresh sheets, surrounded by stunning views over 20 acres of wildflower meadows and woodland.
All our cottages have log burning stoves, TV and free high speed ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity. Our local pub The Hall Inn is just 200 yards away down the lane and there are many other cosy country pubs in the nearby villages of Usk, Raglan and Bettws Newydd.
We love having children to stay and enjoy Oak Farm! Older children love playing in our streams, woods and meadows amongst the sheep and free-ranging chickens and we can provide travel cots, high chairs, plastic cups and plates and other equipment you’ll need for younger ones.
We welcome well behaved dogs and other pets.

"We enjoyed a five-night stay in the self-contained, two bedroom Annex. It was warm, well-furnished and comfortable. Substantial breakfast food was provided for no further charge. The siting is superb with views across the valley and the surrounding fields with a public footpath across them to local lanes. Sunrise was spectacular and photographic. There is a huge variety of attractions within easy driving distance - we went to the RSPB site on the Newport coast, the National Trust’s Tredegar House and The Kymin, the Roman amphitheatre and museums in Caerleon, the White Castle on the Offa’s Dyke footpath and called in on Gloucester Cathedral just an hour away on our way home. We could not have found a better place to suit our requirements."

"The accommodation was an oasis in the beautiful Monmouthshire countryside. Alicia and Christopher could not have done more to make us feel at home. The grounds were lovely and the bread and jam were delicious."
Jonathan June 2023
"Alicia and Christopher were the warmest, most thoughtful and helpful hosts you could imagine. Their house is beautifully furnished, cosy, charming and welcoming. The gardens are breathtaking with wild flower meadows, lavender, roses and banks of irises everywhere and fields of buttercups reaching to the hills and valleys beyond. There were fresh flowers all over the cottage when we arrived. We had a magical time from the moment we arrived on a blue sky afternoon to the moment we left. This is a special place to land and there is so much to see and do nearby especially if you love walking like we do. The children said it was one of their favourite holidays - swimming in waterfalls, horse riding, climbing hills (slightly less so). Book this place now."

"We had a lovely week staying in The Bothy at Oak Farm. The accommodation is perfect for a couple (plus dog) and we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The Bothy has recently been refurbished to a high standard and felt homely and inviting. It has it's own little bit of outside space and various spots to sit and enjoy the lovely views around the property.
Alicia couldn't have been a more helpful, friendly and generous host. We received a lovely welcome message letting us know that there would be some milk, eggs, etc waiting for us, and asking what kind of homemade bread we would like, which appeared about an hour after our arrival. During the course of the week, she kindly shared home grown produce from her garden and allotment with us, including figs, plums and apples and a jar of her on marmalade was included in the welcome pack. Nothing was too much trouble whenever we had a question or request.
We found Oak Farm to be really conveniently located, with the pretty town of Usk just five minutes' drive away and there are plenty of good pubs and cafes around the area within a ten minute drive. It is surrounded by beautiful scenery with plenty of walks and access to the Brecon Beacons just half an hour away. We will definitely be recommending Alicia and The Bothy at Oak Farm to friends and family and would return without hesitation if we visit the area again."

"Very spacious and comfortable 1 bedroom cottage. Downstairs is an open plan kitchen/ dining room/ living room with a brilliant fireplace, which keeps the whole place nice and toasty. The bedroom is very big with a comfortable bed. The homemade bread & jams were delicious and the breakfast supplies were particularly appreciated. We had our dog with us who loved going for her morning run in the fields.
The local pub is very nice with good food and there are plenty more just 5min down the road in Usk. We particularly liked the Mad Platter with their own White Hare Gin & Greek food! We had a great stay and hope to be back soon.."

"Lovely accommodation which was very comfortably furnished, together with a number of interesting bits and pieces to catch the eye, and plenty of books to browse through. Alicia proved to be a very helpful and friendly host, and the freshly baked bread and home-made jam and marmalade was a particularly welcome gesture."
